EE has said that a highly popluated areas like Canary Wharf are critical to the succsess of its 5G programme. 10 other areas in East London will start 5G Trials later this month, using its new 3.5GHz band acquired earlier this year.

The trial will be in Montogomery Square in the East London financial district. With around 150,000 people passing through every day, and Large global business like HSBC have their headquarters based in Canary Wharf, increasing the demand on the 5G trial.

5G will have a standard speed of over 100 times the speed of 4G, with an average speed of 1 Gbit/s, compared to 4G’s average of around 10Mbit/s. 5G will have the potential to reach 20Gbit/s as well, which is around 2000 times the average speed of 4G.

5G will be an exciting new standard which will speed up mobile networking many times, saving time in everybodies day.
